As a pre- and post-natal specialist, I work with women no matter what stage, even years after having a child. If you are undergoing fertility treatment or expecting, we can work together to to create an environment where you feel safe and confident when moving your body, and remove the fear around exercising when preparing your body for pregnancy. As a mum of 2, it's so important to me to be able to guide you through pregnancy, teaching you how to strengthen and protect your body for labour and facilitate the quickest and most manageable physical recovery. Post-natal training can extend to many years post birth with unresolved weaknesses or complications. It is never too late for you to do something about it!

A bespoke personal training plan can safely prepare your body for the physical changes that you will go through, and help you to get stronger for the birth itself.
Specific areas to work on during pregnancy:
Reduction of Diastasis Recti (ab separation) by developing the function and strength of the core
Prevention of excessive core weakness by reducing intra-abdominal pressure (IAP)
Pelvic floor strengthening and birth preparation
Round ligament pain, lower back pain management, pelvic girdle pain and sciatica

It can be worrying post birth, and even many months or years later, to start to exercising, especially when your body feels so different. However, starting gentle core and pelvic floor rehabilitation exercises in the first few weeks will dramatically speed up your recovery. Some areas to asses prior to training would include:
How to check for Diastasis Recti (ab separation)
Posture and alignment
Imbalance and weakness
General function and control of your body including pelvic floor and bladder control + any post-natal related complications
C-Section and scar tissue recovery

Injuries often prevent people engaging with their health and fitness. However, with careful management that need not be the case. I have a lot of experience working with those who are recovering from acute injuries or have long term problems, including pre-surgery preparation and post-surgery recovery.
When we approach rehabilitation from injury together, I will not only focus on the specific area of injury, but look at the body as a whole to understand what areas of weakness or imbalances could have contributed to the injury or hinder recovery.
From here, we will develop the balance of your body, as well as working with the injury, taking a holistic and all-encompassing approach to prevent further recurrences or new injuries.

As a nutritionist I place a huge amount of value in the food we put into our body and love to help educate my clients about the dramatic changes we can make to our health through our choices.
As you learn about the foods that make your body thrive and those that hold you back, different lifestyle choices can be made. I encourage clients to be more self aware of how their body responds to food and to gradually make these changes that transform how they look and feel.
Whether you feel you need little or a lot of support, I can offer nutritional guidance to support your training plan.
